The 8x44 Minox BP has an exceptional light transmission of 94.5 percent, as less light is lost through reflection on the way to the eye than with an equivalent roof prism. This gives an enhanced three-dimensional effect of the object in view thanks to the increased objective lens spacing of the Porro design.
A Porro-prism design historically implied increased weight and larger overall dimensions than roof prisms but this new pair of binoculars from Minox weighs-in under 800g and measures a reasonably compact 126x183x52mm while still having a metal body housing and full rubber armouring.
A brand new internal focusing system is used for the first time in which allows them to be fully waterproof down to a depth of 5m. They are also 'State-of-the-Art' Argon gas purged to prevent any internal fogging during rapid temperature fluctuations.
