Minox 8.5x43 HG (High Grade) Binoculars
This binocular has the potential to make a lot people very happy! For some, it will be an alternative to something from the big four [binocular manufacturers] and will save a significant chunk of money. Great ergonomics, very good optics, and the build quality seems impressive, too.

About the HG range
By using special optical glass from German glass specialists SCHOTT AG, a newly developed optical system provides an increase of 17% contrast and a fascinatingly high level of 92% light transmission thanks to 21 layers of plasma M* coating and a new Silver coating on the prisms. Internal reflections and stray light are avoided by blacking out any mounting edges of lens surfaces. With their sleek magnesium body design and Volkswagen Bureau designed rubber armoured exterior, the new Minox 'HG' binoculars are real lightweights at the top end of the range and with Argon gas purging are waterproof down to 5m and will not fog up in the event of rapid temperature or humidity change. Enjoy a satisfying new experience when using the all new Minox HG binoculars.
The eyepiece optics include aspherics to reduce 'barrelling' in the margins of the field of view and give a 'flat-field' view. Using just one aspherical lens eliminates the need for three corrective lenses, further reducing the weight. The twist-up eyecups have four click-stops and the diopter setting on the right hand eyepiece is lockable to avoid any unintentional movement during use.
Aside from the optics, Minox has added a 'first' with its innovative QCF (Quick Close Focussing) which now makes it possible to take exact readings from a distance scale on the focussing wheel, an often looked for feature on binoculars. With these exciting features and given quality, the new Minox 'HG' is today's trailblazer that has all the quality and features potential to become tomorrow's classic.
